Hotel Astor was once the most upscale and expensive hotels found in New York City, and was a gathering place for the wealthy elite. The rate for staying at Hotel Astor was astronomically high. This photo was taken at a dinner party that took place just a few months after the hotel opened in 1904. The women are all seated in the back.
