Like many other high school students, J.J. was quite involved with extra-curricular activities and had worked hard to earn good grades, so when it came to applying for colleges, he was not too concerned about being accepted. However, that doesn’t take away from the fact that the application itself is long and arduous and involves a lot of paperwork, including tax information. When J.J. needed his dad’s tax documents, things took a turn.

What really tipped him off that something was amiss was when his college admissions counselor brought up the fact that there was an issue with his social security number. In fact, it seemed like his social security was not correct, but why could that be? It turns out his father was living a lie and had been lying about J.J. as well.
