Ava Gardner first became known when she appeared in 1946’s The Killers. She then starred in Mogambo, a film that earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination. She starred in many more films in the 1950’s, 60’s, and 70’s. She is considered to be the 25th greatest female screen legend of classic Hollywood era.

Raquel Welch’s appearance in Fantastic Voyage in 1966 led her to sign with 20th Century Fox. After she appeared in One Million B.C., she became a well known sex-symbol even though she only had three lines in the dialogue, but her image in a doe-skin bikini helped make her a household name.
