When Angela and Garrett Holmes received a letter from their housing association, they could not believe what they were reading. The HOA was demanding that they remove the wheelchair ramp on their home that Angela uses to get around. They thought that this had to be a mistake, since they had been living in the Mount Juliet home for ten years without the ramp being an issue. However, the HOA now had a new president, who claimed the ramp was an issue. That’s when the Holmes decided it was time to fight back.

The Confrontation

First, Angela needed some clarification, so she confronted the HOA and asked why they wanted her to remove the ramp. Although it was an uncomfortable conversation, the new president of the HOA eventually admitted that it was because they felt that the ramp was an eyesore. Angela couldn’t believe what she was hearing and felt completely devastated.

The Notification

After the confrontation, Angela and Garrett decided to stand their ground and leave the ramp as it was. Once the HOA realized that they weren’t removing the ramp, they send the Holmes another notification. This time, the letter said that a lien had been placed on their home, and the only way to stop it would be to comply with their request to remove the ramp. This had Angela rethinking the whole situation.
